- Feb 2012 - Ontario Ministry of Labour Blitz on Musculoskeletal Disorders (MSDs) in the Workplace
The Ministry of Labour will be conducting a month-long blitz on musculoskeletal disorders (MSDs) in the workplace. The MSD blitz will concentrate on manual material handling, especially in the industrial, construction, mining, and health care sectors.
If your workplace is visited by the Ministry the inspector will likely perform an administrative review including looking at how your workplace lives up to its roles under the Internal Responsibility System, your MSD injury statistics, your JHSC minutes, written procedures and training on MSD hazards, and workplace controls that you have implemented or they feel should be implemented.
To prepare have a well-documented MSD Prevention Program in place, know and understand the MSD hazards in your workplace, perform an audit or Ergonomic Risk Assessment, have MSD-specific strategies to reduce risk, conduct training on MSD prevention to all levels of your organization. - New Sales Manager in Western USA
As of Feb 1, 2012 Dave Svoboda is the new Regional Sales Manager for West USA. He covers the States of AK, WA, OR, MT, ID, WY, CO, UT, CA, NV, AZ and NM.

- IMPACTO Joins IDI Independent Distributors Inc.

- IMPACTO Acquires Ergotech Protective Devices Inc.
Impacto Protective Products Inc. (IMPACTO) a privately owned Canadian manufacturer and distributor of specialized personal protective equipment has acquired Ergotech Protective Devices Inc. a Markham Ontario based manufacturer and distributor of shock-absorbing and vibration reducing products.
The purchase became effective April 18, 2011 and expands IMPACTO’s business footprint in the industrial ergonomics and safety fields. Ergotech will operate as a division of IMPACTO. Ergotech’s customers should be assured of the continuation of a quality product and the technical support to which they are accustomed to. With the additional support from IMPACTO staff, Ergotech customers will now enjoy regional service throughout North America as well as having access to a large variety of related new products.
Calls to Ergotech are now routed through IMPACTO’s corporate office. Contact information remains the same to ensure no interruption of service.

- Impacto Holding Stock in the UK Warehouse
Impacto has been planning to hold stock in the U.K. to support our distributors in U.K. and Europe as well as their clients.
As of January 2010, we are happy to report that orders for top selling products are shipping out of our warehouse facility in East Midlands, U.K. The location was chosen because of its central location and to ensure the quickest delivery times for our entire distribution network.
Although we encourage distributors to hold their own stock for specific accounts that demand very quick turn around times, the UK Warehouse should help to reduce overheads significantly as well as speed up delivery. Orders can be placed as normal via fax or email through our Canadian office.

The purchase became effective November 2nd, 2009 and expands IMPACTO’s business footprint in the industrial and medical safety field. Viscolas will continue to operate under the same name.
